Toshiba-Intel Ultrabook Challenge 2 #toshibaultrabook

After having fun with the Ping-Pong challenge, the Quick Draw Challenge was next. We were given 3 sets of 3 darts to play in 60 seconds. To start the game for each set, we have to open the Toshiba Portege Z830 Ultrabook, wait for it to wake up from sleep (loading) and throw the dart.  I’m not much of a person who remember things (I always forgot where I put my pencil when I draw, only to be told by my son that I put it behind my ear) but the colour lines on the dartboard represents scores and if I hit the Ultrabook, I would get extra points. More points if I hit the port.

Dj Liang explaining to me the rules of the game.

I forgot what colours I hit but I do remember that I hit the Ultrabook once. Yay! Extra points for me.  And yes, some of the darts hit the grass instead of the dartboard. This challenge was quite tough because I really have to be fast and finish all 9 darts in 60 seconds; 54 to be exact minus the time as 2 seconds are for the Ultrabook to load the screen. 6 seconds for one dart. Aiming takes about 3 seconds and the balance is for the dart to reach the target. In order to finish all 9 darts, aiming has to be faster than 3 seconds as I have to allocate time for me to send signal to the brain to ask my hand to flip open the Ultrabook.

Oh math is killing me; anyway, the point is… everything takes time, to process what you are going to do next really take more than 2 seconds. More time needed when DJ Liang is pressuring you by screaming the countdown out loud.

I really salute those brainiacs in Intel for creating the fastest loading Intel® Core™ processors for Toshiba Portege Z830 Ultrabook; it just needs 2 seconds to load. Who…I mean what can wake up from sleep and do work in 2 seconds?

Anyway, this feature is awesome; helps me a lot when I have urgent work to attend to. Like for example there were few times when I was cooking in the kitchen, a publisher called and asked me to look at my layout and change it quickly so that they can bring it in a meeting. If previously I feel like crying waiting for my old laptop to load, this time I am laughing. It loads within 2 seconds.

2 seconds.

And the rest of the seconds spent loading on my old laptop were spent frying my fish without getting it burned.

Here’s the video to sum up this entry:
