I’ve been up to some macro shots today. Was so happy to caught these ladybirds. I don’t have macro lens, I captured these using reverse lens technique with my Nikon D40X camera. Enjoy!
Kim, I’ve done it by just holding the lens in place (reversed) firmly against the camera. This is a bit hassle, and you’ll get the possibility of light leaks, but it can give you an idea of what’s possible.
These close up photographs of the ladybirds are stunning! Your Nikon D40X camera (without using a macro lens) certainly takes some great shots, I’m impressed 🙂
hey emila.
love the sharpness of the pic. am having a dilemma here whether to save for a new hp or a dslr. haha. if i dont know how to use a dslr, wasting pulak. so confused. ;P
ooh, that is such a cool idea… i’d know idea that one could do that! thanks for sharing, my friend — and, thanks also for your sweet comment on my blog… made my day!
Thanks Edna! I say DSLR!!! There will always be a manual to refer to and thousands of tutorial for beginners in the internet! So take my advice, buy a DSLR! Lol!
Hey, reverse lens! I thought only Canon can do that (the person who taught me said its Canon only). I love reverse lens, you get a totally different composition all the time.

They are quite good considering the fact that you are not using macro lenses.

Nice photos. My macro doesn’t get in that close though I’m still figuring it out and might just be using it wrong. 🙂
