Seed – IF
Kuaci | Prismacolor on Moleskine
It’s ‘Seed’ time over at Illustration Friday and this time I drew my favourite seeds; sunflower seeds! Birds love them; I love them! I can’t seem to stop whenever I get my hands on them. Dehulling them seem addictive. I binge on their edible kernels whenever I’m in front of the tv or just having chats with my husband. My husband loves them too!
They’re totally healthy, ok. *They are excellent source of dietary fiber, protein, Vitamin E, B Vitamins, and minerals such as magnesium, iron, phosphorus, selenium, calcium and zinc. Additionally, they are rich in cholesterol-lowering phytosterols and also a good source of calories. Try them now, the roasted ones are the best. All you have to do is crack them hull with your teeth, spit it out and keep the kernel in the mouth!
Oh, I always think that their patterns are great; every each of them are uniquely barcoded!
Have a great weekend, y’all!

This is wonderful. Your colored pencil rendering has such great subtlety, while showing off the wonderful patterning and texture of the seeds. This piece should be licensed!

i like chacheers coconut flavoured sunflower seed. so fragrant and crunchy. nyep..nyep…(not nyum..nyum..becoz they’re tiny). sory kak emila, havent post comment for quite sometimes here. I even missed IF twice. Glad I’m not alone. Pointing on Pupu and Rizal. Haha.
great illo of the kuaci. i always adore ur simplicity, yet so smart at interpreting ur ideas on paper or digital. i agree with u…once we get the first kuaci in our mouth, it would be a non-stop, and we became seed dehulling machine. There was, like, kuaci eating season last time, everyone seemed addicted to kuaci. Our college forced to ban kuaci becoz it’s hard to sweep the hulls from the floor, even worse when it stuck in the small crevices. kasian itu macik cleaner.

i love these seeds. due to lack of calcium, my teeth gap sort of gotten wider, and i can’t even eat any of these anymore. sigh..
