I found a great shop at Maju Junction on my way to the parking area after having a meeting with Elina yesterday. The shop is called Profoto. Profoto offers photographic printing services (using giclee method) besides conducting workshops and seminars. Their prints are produced on high-grade canvas or paper in large (wide) format, utilizing archival inks which are meant to last for generations. If you are looking for digital printing on canvas, they provide the ideal solution. In addition to canvas, they offer a number of high quality fine art photo papers used by international fine art and commercial photographers.

They also provide framing services including gallery wrapped (stretched) canvas. Check them out:

    Emila I have a few questions…. ❓
    1. Canvas dekat mana yang murah dan kualiti, atau semua canvas kualiti sama.
    2. Berus lukisan, ada jenama tertentu atau beli saja di kedai alatulis.
    Tengah nak buat scrapbook in canvas ni 😉 Thanks dear 😀

    If scrapbook on canvas, I think any canvas will do. I suggest you use acrylic because it dries fast. You’ll need stiff-bristled brushes for thick paint and soft-bristled brushes for watercolor effects. You can also use filbert because if you use just the tip you get a narrow brush mark, and if you push down you get a broad one.

    You can get the stretched canvas (already mounted to a frame) at Win’s and also Craft Haven.

    Just came back from CM, bought one stretched canvas 12″x12″ for RM19.90 and some acrylic paint. Eyeing for prismacolor but darn expensive 😆
    Tonight I’ll go to Craft Haven, hope I can find something overthere. 😉

    How much are they selling the Prismacolor? I bought one at CM before for RM170 but found out that Win’s Art & Stationery sells at RM160. I bargained with the aunty and got it for RM140! Much more cheaper! I love the aunty la!

    Fyi, there’s another place you can get the whole range of moleskine notebooks. If you frequent Bangsar or Kanjang, there’s a bookstore name of CZipLee. It’s at the corner opposite Bangsar Village and Hong Leong Bank.

    hi christine! i am not so sure. I actually just buy any brushes. But you can check at Craft Haven or Win’s Art. Craft Haven is at One Utama New Wing (2nd floor at connecting bridge to the old wing) while Win’s Art is at Taman Megah near the old Lim Kok Wing. I have the address here somewhere in my blog; just find the ‘creative shop’ categories in my sidebar, ok!

    Hi I was reading the art store where you get your supplies from, am wondering if they have prismacolor colorpencils? I am having a hard time looking for replacements for my colorpencils and am running short on few colors.

    The shop that I used to get my prismacolor is Win’s Art. But the shop has been closed due to recent passing of the owner. Maybe you can try Central Square, the one beside Central Market. I heard they sell Rembrandt’s watercolor too!

    thanks emilia for the prompt reply. also thank you for the heads up in the closing of the store. I actually reside in penang. so if I go all the way to kl and only then found out the store is closed then it will really be a bummer. Rembrandt’s watercolor, wow do you know whether it cost a bomb or not? :o) I used mainly windsor and newton watercolor and also graham. not sure if you hv heard of graham. not very popular here… I can’t help but to notice the price stated for prismacolor is around rm150. is it for the whole 120 pencils set?

    Looking for someone/somewhere that does printing on canvas and hopefully able to scan a painting of 66x41cm and print on canvas and other suitable material. Can’t seem to contact the number given by you re this PROFOTO shop. Are they still there? Much appreciate your help.

    I used to do printing before, for a scanner that big , I used before, its a product of Ricoh.. its meant to scan blue prints as large as A0 size color or black/white. But I mo longer work in print shop.

Saya baru je lawat website Profoto dan ada tertluis disitu, mereka sekarang dah fully online. Cari alamat pun tak jumpa, so that means, any order atau communication, kena buat melalui online sahaja.

    Ben, no la. This entry was written few years back. You can get the colors from Art Shop in Taman Melawati or the shop in Central Square, just besides Central Market.

    You can try one art shop at Central Square, near Central Market. I forgot the name of the shop but you can never miss it. THe 48 colors is about RM190. Else you can go to Petaling Street, there’s a shop call Nanyang Art Shop. Few shops before Nanyang, there’s another shop. Else…. you can got to Taman Melawati. There’s an art shop called The Art Shop. It’s near the MIA area.
