    Rose

    Fresh from my mom’s garden. Roses are blooming like crazy! Was it because of the banana peels that my husband buried under the bushes?? He got the idea from Will Smith in ‘Seven Pounds’. I guess the potassium helped with the flowering.

    You can try this at your garden. Or you can google ‘Banana peel rose bush‘ first before you try.

    The challenge this week is to draw ‘Substract’. ‘Ten Little Indians’ seems a good related subject to illustrate. Remember Ten Little Indians song? Here’s the original piece, then called “10 Little Injuns” written by songwriter Septimus Winner in 1868:

    Ten little Injuns standin’ in a line,
    One toddled home and then there were nine;

    Nine little Injuns swingin’ on a gate,
    One tumbled off and then there were eight.

    One little, two little, three little, four little, five little Injun boys,
    Six little, seven little, eight little, nine little, ten little Injun boys.

    Eight little Injuns gayest under heav’n.
    One went to sleep and then there were seven;

    Seven little Injuns cuttin’ up their tricks,
    One broke his neck and then there were six.

    Six little Injuns all alive,
    One kicked the bucket and then there were five;

    Five little Injuns on a cellar door,
    One tumbled in and then there were four.

    Four little Injuns up on a spree,
    One got fuddled and then there were three;

    Three little Injuns out on a canoe,
    One tumbled overboard and then there were two.

    Two little Injuns foolin’ with a gun,
    One shot t’other and then there was one;

    One little Injun livin’ all alone,
    He got married and then there were none.

    Legendary – IF

    alice in wonderland by emila

    I’m still hooked on line work. The challenge at IF is to illustrate ‘Legendary’. This is my interpretation of the legendary fiction character by Lewiss Carroll, Alice. I dunno whether this suits the challenge but here it is. Took 3 hours to complete the line work and I already felt tired. There’s a little bit empty space at the back to draw; will attend to it when time permits.

    Lol! i think her dress looks a bit like barcode! Talk about barcode, I went to search the inventor of barcode, lol! Curiosity killed the cat but not me! Thanks to the internet technology i know now who invented barcode. It was invented by Joseph Woodland and Bernard Silver. There! And oh, it wasn’t until 1974 that barcode scanners was employed.

    Hola!

    Hello everybody! I’ve been working on a book cover illustration and need to re-do the cover again; Kak Farihah said it’s too pastel furthermore she wanted me to illustrate a card design on the cover not a card as one of the elements. Ok…while waiting for her feedback on how she wanted the card/cover to be, i thought i drop few posts in here as well as read/reply comments, read e-mails, login to facebook|twitter|whateversocialnetworks there is, check gmail, update the other side of emila, read more info about cheap life insurance, yada, yada, yada, the list goes on…
