Malaysia Airlines Kids Fly for Free Campaign
I got this job two weeks before I went to Abu Dhabi. Although I was busy preparing stuff to take to Abu Dhabi, I agreed to take up the job. Who wouldn’t, right? A big job from a big client like Malaysia Airlines is something good for my portfolio. After having 3 or 4 times amendments on 3 sets of artworks (print, web and booklet), they finally got approved a day before I leave. All the files were so big and uploading seemed like forever. But Alhamdulillah, all went through.
This one is from the first set; 1 of 3 illustrations for print ads. The layout was done by Ogilvy & Mather (Malaysia) creative team.
I think my signature should be smaller there. But nonetheless, thank you to MAS for making it visible in the advertisement.
I’ll post more soon as the next ones are out.

Travel illustrations: Lombok
Cover illustrations I did recently for next issue of Gaya Travel Magazine. Will be out soon and will let you know if I will be getting some free copies. I did a line work concept and colored only the traveller part in watercolor. Took me accumulatively one day to complete.
I have never been to Lombok but got the reference photos from the team. So yeah, hope to go someday. Lombok looks gorgeous!
Pen and watercolor on acrylic paper.

WiP: Princesses book
Sorry that I had to take out previous post about Princess Gunung Ledang. Hate it. Here’s my version of Princess Walinong Sari of Pahang.
The background and a bit of the clothing detailing will be done in vector. Am running out of time.Princess Walinong Sari was a beautiful princess in Inderapura, now known as Pahang. She was interested in silat, the Malay martial arts and learned the art from a young age. She became skilful in silat and also picked up other skills like sword fighting and throwing spears.
More story in the book soon. Gotta finish this for Abu Dhabi International Book Fair.

Sweet pea girl
Made this for Peter Duke for her grand-daughter. Peter, a fellow children’s book writer, whose 2nd home is in KL, has been a great support to me and he is always there if I need any advice about children’s book writing. Illustrating this is my way of saying thank you to him.
Thank you, Peter. Hope your little sweetpea likes this!

My Mother’s Kitchen soon by end of March
95% done. I just need to add some photos and it will be ready to publish. “My Mother’s Kitchen” is an ideal book for reading aloud and for playing ‘I spy’ in the kitchen as children learns to recognise things in the book.
