    I Remember You: Audrey Hepburn

Ok, I decided to draw on every page, not spread. I have ample time to draw more as I only gonna submit it by December 2011. So, instead of 15 spreads, 30 single pages to draw. Now it’s both gender instead of just female.

    Audrey Hepburn, graphite on sketchbook.

I’m not going to put any thin watercolor as it’ll crumple the page. Tried on Princess D’s page and it crumpled like hell. Had to ironed it out to make it straight but still, the sign of crumple is there. Will alternately use colorpencils.

    I Remember You: Princess Diana

I selected the theme ‘I Remember You‘ for the Sketchbook Project 2102 and previously, I thought that I flip through my album and draw people in the photos. But I changed my mind. I decided to pay tribute to inspiring people (deceased) that I had known since I was young. Princess Diana was one. I wanted to draw Saloma first but I couldn’t find the right picture. Will search again later.

So these are the names in my drawing list:

    • Princess Diana
    • Saloma
    • Normadiah
    • Saadiah
    • Anita Mui
    • Audrey Hepburn (as per suggestion by Nurul)

Will add to the list from time to time. Given a page for the title, I have 15 spreads to draw. 14 left.

    My Sketchbook 2012 is here!

    Received it 2 days ago!

The sketchbook for this one is a bit wider and the weight is not much different than the previous one. If last year they used Moleskine, this year’s sketchbook is custom-made and made from high quality 100% recycled paper milled in the Pacific Northwest, printed with vegetable-based inks and produced with renewable energy. They enhanced the strength of the cover and selected wire saddle stitching so that each book is easier to rebind if necessary.

I had just drawn a spread, will post it up in my next post. Do you like to join this project? Head on to The Sketchbook Project World Tour 2012.

Check out my sketchbook that I submitted last year for The Sketchbook Project 2011 which is on tour now in the USA.

    Sketchbook Project World Tour 2012

Besides being very busy with JKM Project with Pak Yusof Gajah, I have few other projects waiting in line; coloring project with Linda, Flower Paintings exhibition with Julya and my next book project with OneRedFlower Press. But all that do not stop me from participating in The Sketchbook Project next year. I’ve joined for 2011 and certainly do not want to miss it for the world tour 2012. if you like to join, you can do so here: Art House Co-op Sketchbook Project 2012. You can make payment by credit card or PayPal.

I selected my theme already: I Remember You. My concept is to draw people from my photo album, with background. Monotone color concept, maybe brown and turquoise. The style will be as below:

But then again, I just might change my mind on the style of drawing. I know I like to change my mind often.

“I’m a woman. I have a right to change my mind.”
