Sketchy Sunday: Cape Town Bird
While waiting for the Hop On-Hop Off tour bus near the aquarium at the V and A Waterfront, I noticed a hungry bird and captured it on camera. Kept the photo for my bird study. Here’s a pencil sketch of the bird.
Haha, hell no. Am not in Cape Town now. This was July last year. Do you know what species is this?

I remember a peafowl
This was the peafowl that I chased around in Kirstenbosch Gardens because I need to look at it very closely. I think it’s pretty. Drawn for the Sketchbook project 2012, ‘I Remember You’ theme.

Sketchbook Project 2012, a change of idea
I have a sudden change of idea. The theme is still I Remember You but instead of sketching people, I am now sketching animals and people which/who stay closely in my heart. They will be based on photos that I took over the years. It’s better this way as it’s very hard for me to find photos of famous people with fair-use.
And for that, I took out all the original pages out of the airmailed sketchbook and replaced it with 200gsm cartridge papers with less texture, easier for me to draw using graphite. There goes Lady D, Audrey and Anita. But I’ll keep them safe in my archive.
Here’s what the first page is all about: Pets 1980s.

Sketchy Sunday #7: By the pool…
I haven’t got the time to post up my sketches for many weeks already, thought I post one this week. This one was drawn last weekend at De Palma Hotel Kuala Selangor while watching my son having fun in the pool.

WiP: KL Illustrations II
So ok, the illo I drew is not what my publisher expected. She wants it more like those that I drew for my Italy sketchbook. And I am working on it since yesterday. The details are countless but am enjoy drawing it. With my pair of new glasses, I can draw now for hours without having blurry vision and teary eyes.
