    Hot Wheels

An interview with my son, Yassin, who is 4 years and 5 months now.

    Can you draw Hot Wheels?

Good, how about writting it down?

Clever boy, can you spell it?

    H O T spacebar W H E E L S !

Lol! He integrated the keyboard function in his spelling! We’ve told him that the ‘spacebar’ will only apply for Goggling purposes and for oral spelling, he didn’t have to mention it. He’s having a hard time leaving behind the ‘spacebar’.

    Teacher’s Day

Yassin went to a Teacher’s Day party at the kindergarten yesterday. Lucky it was not raining during the celebration. They have so much fun playing and eating. Yassin made two cards for his teachers. I coached him on the flower but the magical tree was his own idea.

    Scary moment

It was really scary. The freaking squall yesterday blew off roofs and trees like crazy. Our house was not excluded. I was watching my son and nephews drawing at the back hall when it all happened. The rain was not so heavy at the beginning but it wreaked havoc gradually and a sudden loud bang of thunderstorm turned the power line off. We ran upstairs to the main hall (our house is a split level) in seek of a safer area. We were shivering and were hugging each other. There were only four of us in the house. My husband went for a meeting while my mother went for her Quran reading class. Within seconds, water started coming in like waterfall in the back hall and in my mother’s room. My working space was flooded with water which came in from the door. I didn’t quite save all the paper boxes from under the table. Thank you for the fast action of my nephews, we managed to save few electrical items from the water. Our computer room was okay but my computer died down along with the phone.

The thunderstorm started around 4.30pm and finally calmed down an hour later. Some of the roof on top of my mother’s room and the back hall were gone, if not broken into pieces. Some of our neighbors lost their roofs as well! My mother reached home around this time and was happy to see that we’re okay. She was so worried about us. My husband came back an hour later. A neighbor who managed to take a glimpse of what happened told us that she saw a tornado-like wind sweeping another neighbor’s roof!

To cut the story short, we started cleaning our house and called it off the day around 10pm. We continued cleaning our carpets and what not this morning. My aunt came to help. My mother told me that some ‘important people’ came to visit around 11pm when we were fast asleep. They promised to come in the morning to help fix the neighbourhood roofings. I woke up around 3am just to check the day’s emails using my husband laptop and went to visit Mariuca ; the wifi is in good condition, yippee yay!

The ‘important people’ never made it as promised. We had to went through another rain and my husband managed to cover the the roofing frames with wide tarpaulin to at least minimize water from coming in. It was around 6.30pm we managed (so did our neighbours) to call somebody to fix our roofs. Should’ve listen to my husband to just fix the roof early in the morning.

My husband managed to fix this computer too. The wireless ADSL router can still be use with only two ports working. The phone totally went dead, will have to buy a new one. The computer’s motherboard are badly damaged. I forgot to pull the plug off the wall. My husband bought a new one for me and luckily all my works in the hard-drive are safe. I didn’t backed them up and my husband scolded me for being such ignorance. He never failed to back-up all his works on monthly basis and I, I have this year’s work all in the hard drive without backing a single file! Had it be the hard-drive that died, I will face a big trouble coz my on-going works with few clients are in there!

Anyway, I thank God and happy that everything is back to normal. The roof is good, the computer is back running and the house is dry. I will do all the files backing after this. At the meantime, below are some pictures of our roof. I’m off to join my husband potato-couching in front of the tv while having my favourite sunflower seeds that I bought from last Sunday.

Have a great Friday y’all, will be back in the morning for more posts; namely about Yassin’s Teacher’s Day Celebration and few others.

    With Love

Yassin made a card for me today. He was so concerned about the overly-glittered leaves. Said he wanted to take out some so that it would look good. I am so touched, he already has his opinion on how his art should be and I am so touched that he wanted it to look good for me!

Thank you Baby Ibu, I love you! Macam baru semalam saya melahirkan dia…

    Ulu Langat

Yassin and his cousins were playing the computer games the whole day yesterday, so my husband thought it would be great to get them outdoor and enjoy nature. We went to Puncak Serambi located at the Bukit Langat not far from our house.

From Puncak Serambi, you can see the KL City. The prominent buildings are visible from up there.

Yassin almost got bitten by a monkey which went berserk when Yassin chased him. Luckily, we were fast enough to handle the situation.

I think it was this monkey but then again they all look the same! (photo by Zaim)

Later, with the request from Yassin who wanted to go to ‘Segah-Segah’ place, we went further down to Ulu Langat Batu 14½ (Sungai Semungkis) and stopped by the Agrotek Garden Resort . Yassin and his cousins, Fellani and Daniel were having a blast!

Note: Segah was a cartoon series which was aired in Astro Ceria. It’s about a boy with his animal friends, preserving the nature from the being torn down by irresponsible individuals. Though Segah is not showing anymore, Yassin still remembers the show and would always refer nature as "Segah-Segah".

Yassin were having a great time!

Daniel was having a blast too!
