    One in a Million

Here’s my best selling card at GCU entitled Dad, you’re One in a Million. This card is suitable for Father’s Day as well as birthday.

Cards from GCU are based in the USA and you can pay via credit card or paypal. Shipping will be done from there and will reach you in two weeks time; if you’re in Malaysia. This is because I am licensing my artworks.

I’m planning to sell locally via online, will inform you soon as I get the shop up. But my cards’ size will all be standard at A6 size (close size)  and cannot be personalised like GCU.

    Failure to launch

My PC failed on me yesterday around 4pm and since then I could not continue my work as all my files are in there. Told my husband about it and he diagnosed the problem and will repair my PC today. I’m using Yassin’s PC to blog.

Yesterday I had a big traffic due to the recent article about me in Kosmo. Normally traffic to my page is ranging from 100+ only. Traffic soared down on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday due to the recent problem with the server.

    traffic updated 10.14pm
    updated at at 10.14pm, May 21 2009
most recent updates can be seen –>here<–

To me that is quite a lot already and of course when compared to kennysia.com or paultan.org, my blog is like an ant to elephants. I’m thankful to readers who have been following my blog for the past 2 years.

Yesterday, Mrs Imran asked me about tips on getting traffic to my blog. I am no expert in this field but I can share few tips here.

When I first blogged, my traffic is not more than 3. Seriously. The traffic was made up by visits of closest friends like Mariuca, Daliza and Helmy. Later when I joined Illustration Friday, a community of illustrators and artists, I gained more traffic. At first I haven’t got any visits from any of the members but when I started leaving comments about their artworks, they replied back by visiting my blog and left their comments. Soon after that, my traffic soared from 3 to 13. Or maybe more. I was insatiable and need more. I searched the net on how to gain traffic and found so many good tips. One of it was submitting my blog to search engines. I began submitting my blog to as many search engines as I can. From Mariuca, I also learned that I can also gain traffic from Technorati and Bloglog as well as EntreCard. So I registered. I also got myself registered with so many communities including the local ones like All Malaysian Bloggers Project and Blog Malaysia. Later I began exchanging links with friends. I started joining in memes/tags too.

Actually, there are so many communities or networks that you can submit your blog to. You just have to spend time to search for it and submit your blog.

Here’s some basic tips again in point form, by importance:

    • Submit your blog’s URL to free search engine like Google, Yahoo, etc. This will increase the visibility and optimise your blog for Google search, and distributing your content across the search engines at large.
    • Join social networkings like EntreCard, Technorati, Bloglog, Blog Malaysia, Twitters, etc.
    • Exchange links with friends
    • Be interactive; make friends with other bloggers and leave friendly comments in their blogs. You’ll be surprise to receive replies from them!
    • Make your blog more interesting; accompany text with pictures. It is advisable that your post your own pictures. If you want to post other people’s pictures, make sure you get a consent first. You can use royalty-free pictures from iStockphoto but make sure you read the rules. They are basically free for personal and non-commercial use only. The watermark must be kept intact.
    • Throw away a giveaway bash once in a while. People love free gifts!! But make sure that the rules are not too hard for people to join!

These tips are not comprehensive and I can bet you can more great tips from the experts. Try and google this keyword: How to get More Traffic to Your Blog, and you will likely to get about 69,100,00 results. You can try as many tips as you like! All you need is time baby!

Let me know your thoughts on this matter. Appreciate it! Thanks!

    More drawings

Ok, I’m picking up from where I left off; still on old drawings. Here’s one from1999 based on a photo in a magazine. Seriously, I think my watercolor works back then was so much better than the current ones.

    What is up?

My blog has been down since yesterday. I can only logged in today only to experience errors from time to time. I am currently handling 2 websites under the same hosting provider and they’re perfectly fine; no downtime at all. I have submitted a support ticket but so far no reply just yet.

    Sea shell

Another old drawing; this time I cannot determine the timeline.

    Totally forgot when.

    sea shell

Actually, this is a very big drawing; about A2 size, but my scanner could so far scanned the shell part. This drawing reminds me of the sea shell tongue twister:

    She sells seashells on the seashore;
The shells that she sells are seashells I’m sure.
So if she sells seashells on the seashore,
I’m sure that the shells are seashore shells.

I can never get this right! Can you?

I went to Ikea today with my mom, aunt, cousin, niece and son today. Mom and aunt was here for the weekend. We had lunch and bought few things. I saw a very nice tv stand; wanted to buy it but then it was too heavy to lift. Maybe next time when husband is around!
