Oh Poslaju!

I am a proud Malaysian who likes to use local services. This includes Poslaju service by Pos Malaysia. Today, I went to Pos Malaysia and was told that they don’t really accept parcel with anything that is fragile including a porcelain mug, which I was sending this morning. I asked the person in charge, what are the options that I have. She wrote “Sender’s Risk” on the slip and asked me to sign beside it. I can send the mug provided that I agree to the term. I asked again if they are strict about not taking anything fragile, what are the options that I really have? Send it by hand? Or go look for other services? She just smiled.

So I signed it as I don’t really have time to run around Ampang looking for City-Link or Kangaroo or UPS or whatever we have here in Malaysia. Besides, Pos Malaysia is very near to my house, very convenient.

Previously, the service was good, nothing was broken but lately, mugs sent by my mug printer to my customer were always broken. This is because (according to the person in charge just now), they put everything in a sack and the risk of getting things broken are high.

I would like to take this opportunity to call Pos Malaysia to at least upgrade the service where handling is priority. I don’t mind paying extra (as long as my customers don’t mind paying extra as well).

Anyway, I wrapped the mug with bubblewrap and fill in the gap with newspaper. Wrapped the box again with bubblewrap before wrapping it with a brown paper. Let’s see whether this one makes it unbroken. If it’s broken, I have to take the blame because I signed the Sender’s Risk term. It is not Pos Malaysia’s fault. Sound so sweet.

True Kak Emi! They should do something about it. And pos laju is not that laju anymore. What the point of paying the fee if we only get the parcel after 4 days?that is not laju. duh!~

Yes, write to them. I think they should improve that part of their service. I’ve had courier services send me fragile stuff from China and I always receive them in one piece so I think Pos Malaysia should improve on that aspect.

    pelik betul akk…
    kenapa tulis sender risk…
    tulisla…
    “fragile”handle with care…

memang la diorang tak boleh jaga…atleast bila nampak note tu
masa handle tu hati2…tak de la nak campak2 kan…

    huhu
    pelik kenapa dia mesti tulis
    sender risk…

    kita dah bayar…
memang la dorang tak tanggungjawab kalau pecah ke apa…
    tapi…

    kalau tengok
words fragile, handle with care tu…

    cuba sebaik mungkin untuk jaga…
jangan la balik2 sesuka hati ke…

    sebab mug tu tebal…
    sukar untuk pecah…
    secara logiknya…
    melainkan hentaman nya sangat kuat…

    Kak Emi,

Seriously Pos Malaysia are now getting worst day by day! I think diorang tak nak responsible and being burden dengan tuntutan ganti rugi bila ada kerosakan. Itu semua duitkan. If banyak sgt tuntutan, bole reduce their profit. Sigh. This happens when company more interested in profit than thinking to provide better service, pengguna yang stress. Haih. Duit kita kot.

It’s no hard at all actually kalau nak uruskan elok2. Usually kalau barang mudah pecah, kita pon tahu macam mana nak wrap. Mesti la balut banyak2 dgn kertas and bubuh bubble wrap etc. Then tulis “fragile” along the parcel, yang semua orang bole notice. If they were trained to treat each parcel as their own belonging – pegang elok2, takde campak2, put it nicely etc, sure takde kes barang pecah. Ini kes nak cepat, ah bukan barang aku, diorang lepas tangan. Sigh.

They know people like us, memang really on Pos Malaysia. I mean, I dnt go t UPS or Fedex whats so ever just to post something within the country. Memang tak tahu pon kat mana kedai2 tu compare to pejabat pos.

In my case Pos Ekspress service. Usually I drop my sampul kat main post office. Before the cut time was 6pm which is appreciated especially when comes to office matter sempat nak drop lagi. Then last Ramadhan (if I’m not mistaken) they change to 5pm, and it still okay. But sadly, last month they change it to 4pm tiba-tiba. Sigh. I wonder what is the cut time for other branch post office. The fact, service same je. Tukar cut time doesn’t shorten the time they doing their job.

Entry ni rasanya akak bole anta as surat aduan utk ruangan/forum surat dari pembaca dlm mana-mana local paper, mmg terbaik.

oh my!! don’t they segregate the parcel according to items, like fragile and non-fragile. I’ve seen posman tossing a sack of mails into the poslaju van but i nvr though that they would do the same wt parcels.

  • Jean Chia

thanks for post! i was just thinking to use poslaju to send porcelain stuff. looks like i need to reconsider my option! :/

Lemme know if the one you just sent is well received anot. If pecah jugak, then the way they handle parcels are really irresponsible.

ye kak emi.my friend pon send me 2 mugs for my wedding present 2 years ago.she was soo disappointed when i told her that one of the mug was broken coz b4 she post em everything were perfect. mcm x adillah pulak sender has to take the blame coz we pay for their service and the sender risk term…so illogical!.. anyways will keep praying that my mug that u send dis morning still intact when i receive it..:D

sorry kak..i dah lame majuk dgn pos malaysia ni..sbb 2 kali i post brg, sekali terswitch brg..lagi skali 2 brg rosak.. so i amek keputusan boikot post malaysia..sorry la..

  • emila

tu la, that is the case. dah tulis besar2 pun boleh pecah juga. they need somekind of trolley for the handling, not a sack, to transfer from the post office to the van. and inside the van, kena ada racks.

  • marvic

    kak emi..my friend said this:

“what i can suggest, if item btl2 pecah, y dont after received the item, trus buat aduan by col 1300 300 300. then lodge a complain by giving the item details..
kalau dia penerima, dia kena bgtau pengirim untuk attach posting receipt.. bila rekod complain da di buat…pihak poslaju akan investigate..kalu btul salah poslaju then diaorg akan byr kepada pengirim..
in her case yup sometimes we advise sender utk wrap item 2 ngn elok…tp kmi pun ada fragile sticker… untuk mengatakan sender risk adalah last choice reason la..actually counter staff kena pandai bg advice..”

hope her explaination can help… 🙂

  • LadyJava

wah she just smiled? apadah.. didnt even offer options… apa nak jadi tu? oh well.. hope you the mugs reach your client safe and sound.

  • LadyJava

hah.. pecah dah? alamak… teroklah post laju ni.. like this you have to use courier service for your mug business lah like this.. kena charge shipping to your clients perhaps?

    Salam Kak Emila,

Alhamdulillah setakat yang saya guna poslaju, tak ada masalah. Tapi setiap kali pos barang, memang berdebar-debar tunggu respon pelanggan, risau barang rosak. Yelah, tak pernah berlaku, tak bermakna tak akan berlaku kan?

Anyway, akak ada cuba guna packing peanuts tak?
