    Lighting in illustration

I normally am flat-color person when it comes to vector illustration (slang: illo) but once in a while I do like to play with simple lighting. Although I am not really good in lighting, I try to do my best.I will ask my husband whether my lighting is ok or not. He’ll give his opinions and I’ll do as he says, after all, he’s very good in lighting.

If you see below, the lighting comes from the window so I made arrows guideline before I integrate the lighting so that I’ll know where to make it lighter or darker.

The lighthing of the bookshelf is not correct, hehe, will change this instantly.

This is a project I am currently into doing; 22 illustrations for a children picture book written by Nisah Haron. Deadline is 14th March–that’s six days from now. I’ve changed the angle of the bedroom two time already; from frontal view to perspective and I must say that I love this one personally. The angle is quite similar to my previous Routine-IF illustration:

    Rise and Shine

I actually wanted to use/recycle this one as a base and later change the bed, the girl and what not but too lazy to go dig my CD archives. So I just make a new one. And I haven’t finish Illo 1 yet. I’ve few items to add before I can move to Illo 2.

Everything is done in Adobe Illustrator. I might add textures later. The final enhancement of colors will be done Photoshop.

    Till later, peeps.
