    Moleskine updates 6

Flower Abstract | acrylic on moleskine

This painting was done last week. I don’t really like the overall composition but I love the textures up-close. I’ve got two more old sketches to be colored. Will make new drawings after that.

Just got back from Ipoh and it was fun meeting kids. They are so adorable and cute. Will put up pictures soon as I can. I didn’t get to meet Diya and Anny as they have other plans. Hope to meet them next time. My mom was here for the weekend and helped me packed some of the things to be taken to our hometown next weekend. My 2nd last brother is moving to the hometown and to help ease the moving services cost, I offered to help carry some of his things in the back of my car. Will celebrate Eid’ul Adha at his new rental house.

My moleskine: 25 pages left to draw.

My Kaki | Calligraphy pen + acrylic

Drew this while waiting for the Tioman ferry few weeks ago. The background coloring was done last week. See that stamping on the right page? Made it using rubber eraser. Don’t really like the outcome. Will try to do it on lino. I have just finished with major works yesterday and today I will try to clear off pending posts, read/reply e-mails, drop EntreCard, visit you guys and what not before I leave for Ipoh tomorrow morning. I won’t be driving to Ipoh as my husband is taking our car to the workshop; the a/c compressor is not working. I’ll be going with Kak Farihah instead. I can sleep all the way to Ipoh hehe.

    A Surprise from Ken *

I received this lovely gifts from Ken Ong today! I am so thrilled! These are so beautiful, I love them all! Thank you so much Ken!

Ken gave me a 2 candle holders (painting on glass was painted by Ken himself), 4 vanilla scented candles, a handmade card with two adorable little dolls and his beautiful name card; all these wrapped creatively in a black corrugated box and nice matching ribbons to go with it. I am lighting the candle as we speak and oh it’s great to bask in the full splendor of vanilla aromatherapy.

    Thank you Ken Ong!

    Moleskine updates 4

I am so sorry that I didn’t get to post anything these past few days. I got so caught up in works that by the time I wanted to blog, my body was too tired to continue. I didn’t get to make new drawings too. But I have few updates on my moleskine drawings.

    close-up

I actually wanted to blog this morning but I got really fuzzy headed like I am going to just black out. I just rested and watched the cartoons on tv. Speaking of tv, I saw my son climbing on it today! I think I need to enforce a safety measure by getting a pop up tv cabinet. I am so afraid that he will fall or something.

    My tote *

Haha… I am so happy that I have made myself a tote! I have been wanting, for ages, to make one for me but never got the time to make it. So on Saturday, my niece, Wanda wanted to make her own bag. I gave her two pieces of unfinished canvas for her to draw and stitch. While waiting for her to finish with her artwork, I finished mine! I know it’s nothing to compare with those beautiful and pretty totes on sale but this is sufficient enough for me.

This bag has 2 pockets in front and 3 pockets at the back. I’ll upload nicer pictures tomorrow, k!

Anyway, Wanda is still struggling with her stitching. Haha! Yeah, I enjoyed my weekend so much! I also learned a new word from my nephews: “Lopek”!

Updates: Here are two pictures of my black tote:

    My weekend *

I was supposed to meet Yoon See on Saturday but had to cancel it the last minute as my mother came home for the weekend ( she stays at my brother’s for few months to take care of his baby, Erina). My sister and brother along with their spouses were also here, not to mention my nieces and nephews. We get to talk about lots of things as well as plan a Sunday outing.

    Adam, my sister’s baby

So as planned, we went for our Sunday outing. My sister, brother-in-law and my husband couldn’t make it, so it was just the bunch of us; my mom, my brother and sister-in-law, my 2 nieces, my 2 nephews, my son and me. We had a great morning.

Later on the agenda was to visit my husband’s niece at the hospital but since it was too early, we stopped by the National Art Gallery to kill times. Yassin was all amazed to see great paintings and sculptures. His favorites were the Flying Crab Sculpture Series exhibition at the second floor.

We had our lunch at Tasik Titiwangsa, not far from the Art Gallery. Yassin was all tired and requested to rest for awhile.

    Tired Yassin

We went to the hospital as planned. Jannah, my husband’s niece is hospitalised due to vitamin B12 deficiency. She spent the last few months in and out of the hospital. The doctors are doing their best to determine the cause and Jannah now walks using crutches. I pray that Jannah will recover soon. Seen in below picture is Jannah’s sister, Ain (in pink).

Yassin was making himself comfortable on Jannah’s bed.
