    Tioman Island Retreat – Part 3 *

The next two days was fun; we went to the Marine Park, duty free shops, walked along the beach, swam, snorkeled in the crystal clear water, took pictures and what not. We wanted to stay for another night but as we have commitments on Monday, we just stick to our plan and left Tioman on Sunday taking the last ferry ride at 12.00pm.

From Mersing, we took Kluang-Ayer Hitam route and later the North-South Highway to KL. We dropped by at Kluang to visit my husbands old school and Pagoh to have our dinner. We finally reached KL at 10.00pm.

Below are more pictures from the holiday. Please wait while it loads. Thank you! Hope you enjoy looking at them!

    Tioman Island Retreat – Part 2 *

We finally boarded the ferry at 4.30pm sharp and the journey to Tioman Island took another 2 hours plus.

In the ferry, my husband and I discussed on where to board off (lol, everything was last minute!) We referred back to a flyer that the ticketing agent gave us. After a quick look at the map, we agreed to board off at Tekek Village. Tekek is a big village of ’em all as there is an airport there, no to mention the Marine Park Centre, as well as duty free shops. We knew we made the right choice as two local girls told my mom that Tekek is a good place to stay.

We booked a ride to the beach area and was guided by a local man. We went to three chalet operators and chose to stay at Coral Reef Holiday. We booked 2 rooms; one for us and the other for my mom and aunt.

    Tioman Island Retreat – Part 1 *

It was out of the blue when my husband suddenly suggested that we go to Tioman Island for a retreat after been working so hard lately. Initially, he suggested that we go to Sibu Island (not far from Tioman Island) but since there were not many choices of place to stay, we opted for Tioman Island instead. We didn’t made any calls or reservation as we were optimistic that there would be many rooms available as the school holiday hasn’t started yet. We invited my mom and my aunt to come along.

We left our home at 6am, with the hope to catch the 12.00pm ferry at Tg Gumuk, Kuala Rompin. It was a sudden plan so we did all the preparation last minute. My husband downloaded the route to Tg Gumuk from Google map and later upload it into his GPS tracking device.

The journey was fun as we got to see beautiful views.

There is actually a village called Kg Geddes in Bahau. The name reminds me of Anne Geddes, the great photographer.

We reached Tg Gumuk at 11.30am and got a bit disappointed as the jetty is not operating at this moment. They are closed for the monsoon season and only will be open from January to October every year. We however booked ferry tickets and was told to get the next 4.30pm ride at Mersing Jetty. He also told us that Sibu Island will only be opened to public in December.

We reached Mersing at 12.30pm and after having our lunch, we just waited at the jetty for our ferry to arrive.

We did our things while waiting: my mom and aunt exchanging stories, husband dozing off, Yassin with his Gameboy and me with my Moleskine sketching.

More photos will be up soon in Tioman Island Retreat – Part 2! Stay tune!

Merdeka ATC | Prismacolor & Graphite on Matt Board

Finally, the Merdeka ATCs are ready! Need to post them to Rizal tomorrow!

I picked 3 subjects to draw for the Merdeka ATC swap; Malaysia‘s flag, Tunku Abdul Rahman and Sultan Abdul Samad Building. I highlighted the subjects because they are well related; Sultan Abdul Samad Building witnessed it allthe independence declaration by Tunku Abdul Rahman and the Malaysia national flag being first hoisted.

    Jalan-jalan Lake Garden

Went to the Lake Garden last weekend. Boy! I had to catch up with my husband and son, as well as my breath! I think I have put on a lot of weight! I dare not step on the scale. The last time (not so long ago) my husband forced me to step on a scale, ’twas scary!!

I felt heavy and need to lose back few kgs, therefore need to cut back on the fatty food and exercise more. I think walking is good coz I’m not up to jogging. I’m trying not to resolve on diet pills.

Here are some photos from Lake Garden. We were happily posing around leftover landscapes from the Malaysia’s Landscape & Garden Festival 2008.

I like this garden decor made up of stones & soils squares.

I think Johor had the most beautiful landscape presentation.
My husband is so agree with that, he’s from Johor
    ;P

We thought we dropped by Tanglin’s food stall for ‘teh tarik’ but it was closed. Anyway, do you know that Tanglin Hospital is occupied by monkeys on weekend? There were hundreds of them, on the rooftop, the gates, all over!

    Landscape & Garden Festival 2008

I went to Lake Garden last Friday with my son and mom to see the Malaysia’s Landscape & Garden Festival 2008. I didn’t have a chance to take a lot of pictures coz I have to tail Yassin everywhere. It’s difficult to take pictures if my husband’s not around. Managed to only snap photos around the playground.

Yassin is into climbing these days
