    Evernote Smart Notebook by Moleskine

    Digital and physical note-taking finally come together in an elegant solution.

    Evernote®, the company that is helping the world remember everything, and Moleskine®, the maker of beautifully designed notebooks and accessories, today announced the availability of the Evernote Smart Notebook today in Malaysia.

    A collaboration between Moleskine and Evernote, the notebook pairs seamlessly with the Evernote App for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch to allow creative ideas to leap from the page and into the digital world. With a simple snapshot taken within Evernote’s App, handwritten words and sketches found inside the new Evernote Smart Notebook are instantly transformed into searchable, shareable and permanent Evernote memories.

    The notebooks are available in two sizes, with both grid and ruled page designs —”Evernote Ruled” and “Evernote Squared” — that are optimized for snapshots taken with Evernote’s new Page Camera feature, available exclusively in the company’s application for Apple’s iPhone and iPad. The Page Camera automatically corrects perspective and improves the contrast between the ink or graphite and the Smart Notebook’s pages to create a beautiful note that can be viewed, searched or shared at any time from within Evernote.

    Each notebook includes a set of multi-color Moleskine Smart Stickers. These stickers are associated with a custom tag in Evernote. When a snapshot of a page containing one, or more, of the Smart Stickers is taken, the Evernote App’s Page Camera recognizes the stickers and automatically categorizes the digitized page in Evernote. Smart Stickers make digitally organizing your Evernote Smart Notebook content a snap.

    Every Evernote Smart Notebook by Moleskine comes with three months of Evernote Premium (RM45 value). Evernote Premium offers an enhanced Evernote experience with a higher monthly upload capacity, offline notebooks, improved searching for PDFs and images and more note sharing options.

    The Evernote Smart Notebook is available in large (RM103) and pocket (RM76) formats at Cziplee Books & Stationery or online at Moleskine Asia.

    The Evernote App is available for free from the App Store on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch at www.itunes.com/appstore or go to http://evernote.com/evernote for other devices. It is also available for Android but however certain features are not up yet. Evernote representative, Tiang Lim Foo (Market Development – APAC, Evernote) ensured that it will be updated soon.

    Toshiba-Intel Ultrabook Challenge 2 #toshibaultrabook

    After having fun with the Ping-Pong challenge, the Quick Draw Challenge was next. We were given 3 sets of 3 darts to play in 60 seconds. To start the game for each set, we have to open the Toshiba Portege Z830 Ultrabook, wait for it to wake up from sleep (loading) and throw the dart.  I’m not much of a person who remember things (I always forgot where I put my pencil when I draw, only to be told by my son that I put it behind my ear) but the colour lines on the dartboard represents scores and if I hit the Ultrabook, I would get extra points. More points if I hit the port.

    Dj Liang explaining to me the rules of the game.

    I forgot what colours I hit but I do remember that I hit the Ultrabook once. Yay! Extra points for me.  And yes, some of the darts hit the grass instead of the dartboard. This challenge was quite tough because I really have to be fast and finish all 9 darts in 60 seconds; 54 to be exact minus the time as 2 seconds are for the Ultrabook to load the screen. 6 seconds for one dart. Aiming takes about 3 seconds and the balance is for the dart to reach the target. In order to finish all 9 darts, aiming has to be faster than 3 seconds as I have to allocate time for me to send signal to the brain to ask my hand to flip open the Ultrabook.

    Oh math is killing me; anyway, the point is… everything takes time, to process what you are going to do next really take more than 2 seconds. More time needed when DJ Liang is pressuring you by screaming the countdown out loud.

    I really salute those brainiacs in Intel for creating the fastest loading Intel® Core™ processors for Toshiba Portege Z830 Ultrabook; it just needs 2 seconds to load. Who…I mean what can wake up from sleep and do work in 2 seconds?

    Anyway, this feature is awesome; helps me a lot when I have urgent work to attend to. Like for example there were few times when I was cooking in the kitchen, a publisher called and asked me to look at my layout and change it quickly so that they can bring it in a meeting. If previously I feel like crying waiting for my old laptop to load, this time I am laughing. It loads within 2 seconds.

    2 seconds.

    And the rest of the seconds spent loading on my old laptop were spent frying my fish without getting it burned.

    Here’s the video to sum up this entry:

    Instagram for Android

    I read about the good news via Twitter and Instagram blog and quickly went to Google Play to download it. It has been 5 days since I downloaded Instagram application on my Android phone. And I have uploaded 33 photos todate with 57 users following me; mostly my blogger, twitter and FB friends.

    Add me if you have nothing against one humble Android user here using Instagram. Username is Emilayusof. While some of iphone users have grudges against Android user, I keep an open mind that sharing free application is a good thing. I am really thankful that Instagram decided to distribute the application to more users from different platform.

    I have installed an Instagram plugin for WordPress on my sidebar for you to view my recent photos.

    Peace.

    PSD to HTML

    For website designers, PSD-to-HTML is very familiar. Last time I used this process to create unique website for the company I was working with. I created and designed layouts from scratch in PSD, slice  them and write HTML out of it. This process is widely used in Web Development process to cater those who wants a unique website. For example, if you want your working desktop (with pencils, erasers, pen, folder, etc) photo as the front page of your website and later link the items to certain page, this is the process that you have to undergo.

    Now, if you want to turn your unique concept into a great website, you gotta hire the real PSD to HTML experts to do it for you. Better still, you can hire CodeMyConcept, the fastest growing and best PSD to HTML service on the planet. They take your designs (or even rough idea sketches) and turn them into beautiful hand-coded and W3C standard compliant websites. CodeMyConcept offers unbeatable pricing and they are insanely very fast in delivering their work too. Although their pricing is amazingly low and the delivery is fast, please don’t think the quality reflects that. They have the best quality markup on the web at par with those big web design companies.

    Don’t believe? Go find out, submit them a project.

    Using fancy font for your post title

    Hallo! Wie geht es dir?  Been busy with work without realising it has been two days! I have been doing a blog makeover yesterday and completed book illo #8 previously. Now doing illo #9.

    Anyway, let’s get geeky today. Do you want to put a fancy font to your wordpress blog? If you are a proud self-hosted wordpress blogger, good. Here’s how:

    1. Download this plugin: Ultimate Google Fonts.Ultimate Google Font

    2. Unzip and upload the plugin to your wp-content\plugins directory.

    3. Activate the plugin.

    4. Go to Settings and look for Ultimate Google Fonts. Click.

    5. Choose your fonts. Check the radio box and Save Changes.

    6. Type in your CSS code in the CSS box and Save Changes.

    7. Voila! You have a new font.

    Example of the code, can be like below:

    .post h2 a{
    font-family:'thefontname',serif;
    color: #333333;
    size: 30px;
    }

    Imghover dot js

    I was just checking my user online on my dashboard and noticed that the referral url was kacanglinking to a file called imghover.js besides a page-not-found error notice. I checked the page source and there’s a line linking to the js file but there wasn’t any file by that name in the theme folder. Afraid that I might’ve deleted the file without realising it, I downloaded the Compositio files again and checked to see whether there’s a file named imghover.js in the package. It wasn’t there. Being a sometimes-perfectionist, I googled for the solution. Not much help until I came across a website using the same theme. I checked its page source and voila, I found it. I copied the codes and save it as imghover.js using wordpad. Now, the error is gone.

    If you have the same problem with your Compositio wordpress theme; do this:
    – in your browser check my page source (Ctrl + U)
    – look for this line: ….themes/compositio/javascript/imghover.js
    – click on it and a new window will open and save the file as imghover.js
    – upload it to your compositio/javascript folder

    I hope this helps.
