Work in progress – big books

Posted by emila Filed Under comm. work, crafts, digital illos with 12 Comments

I have cleared other works to give way to my major commission work but I seem to procrastinate a lot. I am so hooked on making felt birds hehehe. I promised to submit at lease drawings for one book first today. Total is 12, I have done almost 6.

And this is page 6 in progress.

And these are my felt birdies:

OK, I’m off to draw some more. See ya.

After thinking it over and over, I want to make more of birds, be it felt plushies, simple toys, tote bags or paintings. This lil blue bird has perched in my littleshop. :)

My new tote!

Posted by emila Filed Under crafts with 35 Comments

My previous tote was way to small to fit my sketch book, my big wallet, my keys, my phone, my receipts, my pencil box, my son’s sketch book and my all! And the bag hasn’t got any pockets so I bet you can imagine the situation in the bag, like sardine in a tin, all cramped in together. Finding things also quite difficult, I often had to take out few things out in order to search for another thing.

And so, I decided to make myself a new tote. I sat by my box of leftover fabrics and before my head even got to thinking how it should be, my hands were already doing the cutting. All the sweet floral fabrics makes me wanna go patch, so I made myself a patchwork bag!

And I made inner pockets for my pens, phone and small notepad.

I even made more pockets (big ones to easily slide in my big hands) on the outer back to put my keys and what not.

Voila! I now have a bag just like I wanted it to be; with many pockets to organise my things!

August giveaways

I think it has been ages since I last gave something. I have two sets of notepads with keychains (for 2 lucky readers) to give away. Do you want one? If you do, leave a comment and tell me in 20 words or less why you want it. Two commentators with best reasons win. Easy right?

Opens to anyone interested, anywhere you are. Closing date is Sunday 8th August.
