    Mariuca’s Teddy *

    Happy 2nd Blogaversary, Marzie!!

Marzie aka Mariuca commissioned me to decorate a teddy for her in conjunction with her 2nd Blogaversary. So I bought a Russ teddy and later sew up a tee, made run-stitches here and there, ironed on the I ♥ Mariuca on it and knit a muffler for the teddy. Voila! It’s Russ’ no more, it’s Mariuca’s!

Marzie is giving away this teddy and here are the rules in order to be eligible for entry to the Mariuca 2nd Blogversary Contest:

    1. Be a true Mariucan and Subscribe to Wishing On A Falling Star. Leave a comment once you’ve subscribed.
    2. The Mariuca Teddy Bear needs a name so get creative and come up with the coolest one you can think of.
    3. Post your entry at your blog, linking back to her post (and picture if you like) and tell Marzie why you’d love to bring the Mariuca Teddy Bear home.
    4. Leave a comment in her post with the link to your post once you’ve posted your entry.
      International entries are allowed.
    5. Contest runs from 3rd November – 3rd December 2008 (12 midnight Malaysia time).

The winning entry will be selected by Marzie, based on the BEST NAME and REASON for wanting to bring the Mariuca Teddy Bear home! 🙂

    * The first person to leave a comment on any post title that ends with a star will receive a link back to his or her blog for being my first commentator!

    Updates!

I decided to join in the contest!! Since I already am a true Mariucan, all I have to do is name the bear and tell Marzie why I want the bear.

    Ok, here go:

    Name:

    Wentworth

Why Wentworth? Wentworth seems like a good name for a bear and furthermore it’s worth it!

    Reason:

I really want Wentworth because it symbolizes a true friendship and unconditional love offers by his sweet master, Marzie. Like Marzie, Wentworth will never betray me, never tell my secrets to anyone else, never tell lies, never say bad things about me and most important thing Wentworth will always protect me from the one-eyed blue monster that hides in my closet and comfort me whenever I am down.

    2009 Diary Project

Am working on a 2009 diary project with PTS One and above is the cover design. The content will consists of stick-your-pic layouts, planner, timetables and what not. Am illustrating the whole diary but the layout placement will be done by their graphic designer.

Dear Yayah The Diary is actually based on Dear Yayah, a teen novel written by Nor Hazizam Ab Rahman or better known as Farihah Iskandar. I am so happy to be working with the writer herself and also with Ann, the editor. This diary hopefully will be printed after Hari Raya. Though the target market is for teenagers, I think it’s also suitable for those young-at-heart (like me!)

Okies! Will expose the whole content after the diary is out. Right now, I gotta continue working on the illustrations….tolongggg the deadline is next week!

    AKPK’s book launching

Attended AKPK‘s book launching today. I have never been to a book launching and I was reluctant at first. My husband told me to go and so I did. It was AKPK’s “Money Sense” book launching. Money Sense is a book about getting smart with your money and is a common sense guide on money matters. I did the cover design, typesettings and some illos inside the book. My husband couldn’t accompany me as he has loads of work to take care of. I didn’t have friends to go with but luckily my friends, Elina and Valentino was there. Elina was the manager handling the book project while Valentino is one of AKPK’s vendor. We knew each other back in BERNAS. Elina is now working with a leading giant telecommunication company.

The book launching was officiated by Y.B. Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Minister of Higher Education, Malaysia.

    Birthday artwork

My ex-colleague, Marwan and his wife, commissioned me to create artwork for their son’s birthday. They also commissioned me to make handmade sketch books, gift tags as well as table tags. I’ve created two artworks for them to choose. These are still pending approval but I just can’t wait to post them in here. Marwan gave me a color scheme of lime green, red and additional warm colors to work on. Yay! I love working with these colors!

If you like, you can commission me for your children’s next birthday. E-mail me at [emila at emilayusof dot com]. Thank you.
