    Ramadan 2014

    Salam Ramadan to all Muslims.

Made this personal note from found objects around my mother in- laws house. The pencil, pair of glasses and eraser represent me.

You can do photo like this too instead of finding images from the Internet. Just look around you and see what can be transformed into letters. Some of the things you can use: nails, rubber bands, string, pen, pencil, eraser, bottle cover, etc.

Do not steal this image, you can create it yourself. Just be creative.

    Pretend – IF *

Close your eyes and pretend | soft pastel + collage on Moleskine

Close your eyes and pretend; you can be a princess, a mermaid, a fairy, anything at all. Close your eyes and pretend; you can be anywhere, on a bed of roses, in a field of grass, anywhere at all.

Illustration Friday‘s challenge this week is to draw ‘Pretend’. The drawing above was done in soft pastel (chalk) and the detailing part like hair was done using soft pastel pencil. I added some dried leaves and petals to make it look dreamy.

My moleskine: 40 pages left to draw.

I’m digging again today. Found my one and only collage that I did back in 1995. Wow, 13 years back! Lol, now I remember how it all started with the half faced woman illustrations. I thought half face concept is simply unique and frankly, I rather not repeat the same process with the other half.

I have put up a category of Women Series, so that you can browse them.

Materials used: Magazine cuts, sisal string, net, acrylic (for the face) and fake rose petals.
