    Sketchbook’s hand-painted cover

    Sketchbooks with original illustration on the cover soon in my littleshop. Will list them soon as I finish all covers. Paintings are done using acrylic as base, while the illustrations are drawn using pen and watercolor and lastly matte finishing spray to secure the artwork.

    WiP = Malay House II, part 2

    Still haven’t finished the painting as I was so sleepy last night. Slept as early as 12.30am instead the normal 3am. Woke up feeling not sleepy, I continue with the painting this morning after my son left for school. Thought I log on for a little while to show you the progress.

    WiP = Malay House II

    So, after I told my friend Li Teng that I couldn’t really capture the old lady right, my friend decided that she likes to have another Malay house painting. After sending me a picture of Malay house she snapped in Terengganu where she resides now, I did not procrastinate and get down to business right away.

    It’s a bit detailed, so I reckon I’ll take more time to complete, but hopefully to get it done by tomorrow. I am having fun capturing the details although my eyes are blurry already. Maybe it’s time for me to paint on large canvas.

    Commission painting

    I have been commissioned by my old buddy/ex-classmate to paint two paintings for since last December. Or was it November? Hmm..yeah, it took me such a long time to draw. I dunno. I think this has gotta do with me having myself stuck in front of the laptop doing commission digital artwork. Hehe, yeah, I love being with my laptop so much.

    She actually gave me two pictures from her album, a portrait of old woman and this village house. Tried to draw the woman few times (lat month) but I dunno why I couldn’t paint her. Now waiting for my friend to give me another picture to draw. I might not do any digital work today because I am in the mood to paint. I don’t want the mood to go just yet, because once I stuck in front of the laptop, it’s hard for me to turn back.

    Oh, I am taking a break for a day and am going to Kinokuniya KLCC today to have a look at the on-going promotion featuring my book “My Mother’s Garden”. Not sure when the promotion ends, but I will enlighten you with the info and pictures soon.

    Commissioned paintings

    Met my classmate of ’83 of Ampang Road Girls School via Facebook. She loved an acrylic painting that I posted on my FB wall and ordered a reproduction of it with two more extra paintings. Yay! I am a happy painter!

    All are acrylic on canvas.

    She ordered two more paintings based on her photos and they’re in the process. Will post them here soon.

    I am currently working on may favourite size – 12″ x 12″, hoping to work on larger size soon.
