Berger Straße walk

It was a 20 minutes walk on Berger Straße from Bethmannpark but the sight was nothing like what I had seen in the Bahnhofsviertel district that is familiar to me every time I visited Frankfurt. Having Daiana to take me to a different district is a blessing; I get to walk around like a local.

Berger Straße, Frankfurt’s longest street, is the commercial heart of both Nordend and Bornheim. Berger Straße starts next to the Green Belt (Grune Gurtel) and extends for about 3 kilometres, passing through North End (Nordend-Ost), including Merianplatz and Bornheim.

Following Berger Straße north, one can see an authentic Frankfurt; an old village atmosphere that is lined with eateries, cafes, wine bars, pubs and shops, and is ideal for a leisure walk. Most shops are small and specialised.

I walked half-way up the street until Bornheim Mitte as it was getting dark and cold. Perhaps I can finish walking up the street until the end at Enkheimer Straße if I return to Frankfurt next time.

Sharing some photos along the walk.
