Miss me?

I have been busy creating illustrations for my own books. Some are pending approval and some are going to be proposed to some publishers. It has been 3 years since I created any books under my own name. To date, I only have 7 books and a flash card set. I feel that I need to produce more, after all creating books is my prior intention since 2006. And for that, I have to cut down commission jobs to give more time for me to create more books. Being a mom-illustrator is not easy, I still have hard times to juggle between house chores and illustrating. I sometimes have to use my sleeping time to do my work and sleep only 3 to 4 hours. Lately, I often fell asleep while doing work. Such is life for a struggling illustrator like me.

Anyway, I’m not going to talk all about my problems here. Just so you know, the children books industry in Malaysia is still in its infancy state and it needs more books by local writers and illustrators. I feel obligated to create more and to call those interested to write children books. If you are interested to be a writer or illustrator, do join SCBWI Malaysia.
