AFCC 2012, 26-29 May, Singapore

AFCC is short for Asian Festival of Children’s Content. I attended a meeting regarding AFCC 2012 earlier today at Silverfish Books, Bangsar to get an insight of the festival highlights.

AFCC 2012 will be from 26-29 May 2012 at The Arts House, Singapore. Experts from around the world will debate, discuss and chart new ways on how Asian content can be developed and presented both in print and the new media to the children of the world. The festival will be of special interest to writers, illustrators, publishers, editors, literary agents, technology experts, teachers, librarians and children’s  TV and film producers in Asia and from around the world.

Highlights of AFCC 2012 includes Asian Children’s Writers and Illustrators Conference, Media Summit, Primary and Preschool Teachers Congress, Parents Forum, Media Mart & Rights Fair, Scholastic Asian Book Award 2012, Book Illustrators Gallery and Masterclasses. Talks in the Parents Forum will include Book-Making with Your Child by Pooja Makhijani, Creative Writing and Illustration with Your Child by Catherine Khoo and Telling Stories Building Bonds by Claire Chiang.

If you are a budding illustrator keen on promoting your work, consider submitting your illustrations for selection, to be displayed during the festival at the Book Illustrators Gallery.
