Discover ANEW – Day 1: The journey begins

When I reached KLIA at 8.30am earlier today, the Avon entourage was already there. I was introduced by Elaine Aisyah (Avon’s PR Manager, Malaysia) to Siti from Harian Metro, Mei Sin from China Press, Soo Wincci, Ms World Malaysia; who is also Avon’s ANEW ambassador and Aspalin (Avon’s Head of Marketing, Malaysia). After checking in our bags, we went for a breakfast at Delifrance Kiosk situated at Satellite Building while waiting to board Air Mauritius.

    Aspalin and Elaine Aisyah.

The flight was a bit delayed and we reached Pudong airport around 5.30 pm instead of ETA 4.30pm. From the airport, we took the MAGLEV, a magnetic levitation train. It is the first commercially operated high-speed magnetic levitation line in the world. The train line was designed to connect Shanghai Pudong International Airport and the outskirts of central Pudong where passengers could interchange to the Shanghai Metro to continue their trip to the city center. The top operational commercial speed of this train is 431 km/h (268 mph).

From Shanghai Metro, we took a van and reached the hotel at about 6pm. 6pm is like 8pm, already dark.

We had dinner with Bob M. Briddon, Avon‘s Vice President Asia Pacific and China and Dr. Xiaochun Luo, Avon’s Gloval Vice President of R&D and Chief Scientific Officer. Also attending the dinner were  two Avon’s spokespersons; Soo Wincci from Malaysia and Lucy Torres-Gomez from The Philippines. Not leaving behind are Avon’s personnels and journalists from Shanghai, The Philippines and Malaysia.

  • ABOUT ME

    Fun shooting at Country Heights

I cannot reveal just yet about the shooting but here is a picture taken by Ben Ashaari on Saturday, February 25. This was about an hour before the wrap. I brought some calendars to pass to the crew and people involved in the shooting and had the pleasure of penning down my humble signature on some of the calendars.

The shooting was tiring but it was fun. A good news was announced at the end of the shooting and I was jumping to joy!!!!!

Thank you, T! You are like an angel coming my way to grant me my wish!

More stories about this soon. Come more often to find out.

    Postcard for Ayesha

Here is a postcard for Ayesha, living in Pakistan. The mediums are the same as other postcards. This one is inspired by magically long-haired Rapunzel in Tangled, the animated musical fantasy-comedy film.

I love how the 3D animation doesn’t look so 3D. It still has the feel of 2D, which I love so much.

    Shanghai on my mind

Went to Avon Malaysia office in PJ yesterday to pick-up my luggage tags and itinerary. Will be leaving for Shanghai on next Tuesday morning (28 February), ETD 0930, ETA 1430.

I was invited early January to join Avon to DISCOVER ANEW launching by the PR Manager, Elaine Aisyah. Together on the trip will be Siti from Harian Metro, Mei Sin from China Press, Soo Wincci, Ms World Malaysia; who is also Avon’s ANEW ambassador, Elaine and Aspalin (Head of Marketing). Being a blogger for over 6 years now, this is my first time being invited to witness a product launching abroad. I hope there’s more to come.

Itinerary for the 3 days journey to Shanghai includes a visit to Avon R&D Facility, ANEW Press launch as well as short visits around town for shopping and photography. We will be staying at Andaz Shanghai which is located at Xintiandi. There’s wireless internet connection in the room and blogging will be done on daily basis from Shanghai. It’s winter there and the temperature goes as low as 3 degree celcius at night. During the day it will be around 10 degree celcius.

Now, I really need to find my knitted turquoise gloves and muffler. Not sure where I keep it.

    Project Dinosaurs

Initially I want to draw monsters. But after thinking hard about it, I decided to draw dinosaurs instead. I must have at least 20 projects for my upcoming book, Mari Melukis Kartun Dinosaur (yet to be approved). Since there are more than 20 dinosaurs existed some hundreds of millions of years ago, I think this is a very interesting subject to draw.

Do you think you will buy this book for your children? Or for you? Do comment. Would love to hear from you.

Note: Books in this range can be found here: Seni dan Kraf Bersama Kak Emila. You can buy online from PTS. I hope to add more, do let me know what kind of books you want me to write for this series.
