Her name is Comel but mom calls her Mel. Mel is not that fluffy just yet but mom and me are making sure she will get fluffy. We’re working on it.

MM#8: Comptine d’un Autre Été by Yann Tiersen

Thank you to my friend, Zarifi, I got to know about this song. Something that I have never heard before but fell instantly in love the moment I heard the song. Comptine d’un autre été is a piano piece composed by Yann Tiersen, best known from Amélie. Internationally, it has been used in the German film Good Bye Lenin! as well as the Italian film, Due partite (2009), directed by Enzo Monteleone, both composed by Tiersen. In television, it has been featured in the BBC television shows The Restaurant along with The Apprentice.

Today is Earth Day

Do you know that today is Earth Day? Yes? But you forgot? Hehe ok, I am here to REMIND  you.

So what is Earth Day?
Earth Day is a day that is intended to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s natural environment. Earth Day was founded by United States Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in first held on April 22, 1970. While this first Earth Day was focused on the United States, an organization launched by Denis Hayes, who was the original national coordinator in 1970, took it international in 1990 and organized events in 141 nations. Earth Day is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network and is celebrated in more than 175 countries every year. Numerous communities celebrate Earth Week, an entire week of activities focused on environmental issues. In 2009, the United Nations designated April 22 International Mother Earth Day. How Do you celebrate Earth Day?

  1. Plant trees around your home.
  2. Donate money to your favorite green cause.
  3. Join a local group that undertakes activities to help protect the environment in your area.
  4. Reduce, reuse and recycle all day long. Although no-plastic-bag day is on every Saturday but try not to use plastic bag today also. But don’t restrict the habit only for today or every Saturday, put it into practice every day.
  5. Learn more about the environment; find out information about pollution, endangered species, water shortages, recycling, and climate change.

There are more ways to celebrate Earth Day, be innovative and come up with your own ways to celebrate the day. And remember, every day is Earth Day. Anything to help our environment is a perfect thing to do on Earth Day and every day.

My son Yassin planted rambutan tree few years ago. Now the tree is taller than him. Now he’s waiting to reap the ‘benefit’.

Project SCALA (Week 1)

For the past few years, I have been struggling with my weight and it is very hard to go back to 60kg (ideal weight) when I have a sedentary lifestyle. I hate exercising and most of the times, I sit in front of the laptop. I do walk on weekends but that is not good enough. Early last year I was 67kg but it sprung up to 76kg by the end of the year. I dunno, when I am in a stress, I tend to eat a lot.  Realising that I gained 9 kg Since April 2010) and overall 16kg, I started to control my eating habit early this year and try not to be in stress too much. Has lost 3kg but as I don’t like to exercise, it has been slow. I need something to get help me get rid of the additional fat around my tummy and thigh. A friend suggested I use a slimming corset which is so hot and new in town but frankly, the price is so out of my budget.

Anyway, to cut story short, I found a product that is way much cheaper called SCALA.  SCALA  offers shapewear such as BioFir High Waisted Knee Length Slimming Panty, BioFir Slimming Shaper Bermuda, BioFir Slimming Legging, BioPromise High Waisted Shaper Panty and BioPromise Posture Bra. As my problem area is tummy and thigh, the high-waisted knee length slimming panty is the best one for me. And thanks to SCALA, I got to use and test it for the first time yesterday. Slipping into it was so easy and it felt so comfortable on the body instantly, unlike those typical ones that you can get from the ladies deparment. Hehe, yes, I bought one of those and believe me, it took me hours just to zip it up. Not to mention the hard time breathing the whole day.

SCALA Shapewear is very stretchable and is made of Emana Fiber which are ingrained with nanobiotech bio-crystals which help to increase microcirculation in our body via Far Infra Red Rays (FIRRS). Fat layers are then melted down to liquid which in turn being transported to the liver and kidneys from where will be excreted.

Ok, I am going to pose myself a challenge: lose few inches off my waist and thigh by May 20. And continue doing so over times. I name this challenge Project SCALA and I am going to record my progress on weekly basis.

Thigh – 42″

I know what you are thinking but zip it! LOL, it’s embarassing but this is my way to motivate myself. For the next progress post, I am going to introduce you to each shapewear, so stay tune.
