New year, new style

New pricing, perhaps? Lol, I let you judge. But it’s already February, maybe I can consider a price hike next year.

Ok, I have this 3D-like style for some of my artworks but last time I found it hard to always use the effect on all elements because I have to copy paste my color codes on notepad just to get it right. It didn’t keep the last step I did. Or was there any other way that I didn’t know of? But recently, I got myself upgraded to the latest version and wow, it keeps the last step and color just like I wanted it to be. Kudos to the developers! And yay to me! Haha, I am dumbfounded.

I was commissioned by Ziana to remake her blog as well as the header and those little tiny things you can find on a blog. The challenge is she wants it to look 3D like a famous animated series on the tv, you know, the purple dragon one. So, I thought of some of the 3D-like illustrations I did previously, like these:

And of course, I emphasize this all the time, these are not download items. Composition and illustrations are created from scratch by big ole me unlike what some people thought. Please, do not have the thought, I am just an ordinary human with humongous passion in learning. I work hard to better myself and I deserve all the credits. Sweat and tears were all there. All because I am only a self-taught illustrator. I didn’t have that chance to go to any college. I know I can work to get the higher learning but I used the money to help my mom, a single parent, to support my two little brothers. And to get us descent meals as well.

So,ok back to Ziana. Here’s the blog makeover I did for her.

She’s flabbergasted. And I am flattered. Such an honour to have customers tell me this all the time. The hard work felt almost easy.

Thank you all for trusting in me to create. And I shall create (not download) as long as I am breathing. Hmm that shall be my 2011 motto. I like the sound of it.

P/s I got a job to illustrate a book by our famous local writer, Nisah Haron. Yay to my children’s book illustrator career. Will update soon as I start illustrating.

    akk got part yang menyentuh perasaan… mengalir setitik air mata sha…:(

    tak pergi kolej pun… tapi hasil yang sangat2 hebat… [kekadang orang tak buka mata] hm… dato’ ct pun tak masuk U pun… hebat juga… orang nilai daripada hasil… bukannya daripada qualification… cuma kalau ada qualification tu bonus… tapi… yang sha tahu memang experience… paling penting… belajar kat U sebenarnya tak mengajar banyak benda… masuk dalam alam pekerjaan… akk tahu tak? orang yang tak abis skolah ajar sha skill… malu tak? malu dengan diri sendiri… jadi kat situ baru ada inisiatif nak rasa lebih baik daripada dia… masa tu jadi manager…

    Tapi… she;s memang great… dapat jadi best manager every year… hahaha sha pulak stakat top 10, top 20 je…:) tapi still best among new manager…:p

    hm… akk… wah2 3D image… nak belajar2… wink2… sambil kelip2 mata… as usual… superb…

    thank you sha. akak hidup susah so bila ada peluang untuk perbaiki diri, akak cuba. tapi semua guna usaha dan bukan shortcut. ok, nanti akak ajar, k.

    kak.. as i told u before i love all your artworks..and only God know how much i love this blog more then ever.Its like a treasure box which i desire so much..something from me to give to my son later on…

    If i ever want to do another makeover..i will definately find u …(for example tambah gerabak kat little train tu as my anak pun later akan bertambah jugak.hehehehe)

    Lastly great work kak and job done well done!!thumbs upfor u!!

    first time sy msk sini, sy dh jatuh cinta.. dan first time tgk jugak, sy dh tau.. ni mmg hasil tgn akak.. bukan download or copy dr mane2..

    dlm hati terdetik, bangga sgt dpt jumpe rakyat Malaysia yg bole wat sume ni..

    honestly kak, I am pround of u.. walaupun xpernah jumpe in person, tapi sy ttp bangga! hehehe..

    kak emi… nak tanya… pasal idea dengan konsep… stelah belajar dengan kak emi ni… sha dah tahu nak cari identiti sikit2… teknik pemilihan kaler… cara nak bagi artwork nampak lagi outstanding…[eceh.. memandai je…]

    idea tu macam mana akk? konsep tu macam mana? dengan maksudnya yang menyeluruh….

    kalau konsep tu… macam muka bulat… muka petak…ke?
    idea tu pulak? sha ni tak paham sangat akk… baru nak belajar… terma2 pun tak paham lagi… janji sedap mata customer memandang… dan seperti yang direquest… ok…:)

    Congrats Emila. Looking forward for the new book.
    The blog header looks cool. And I keep the spirit of “wanting to learn”. You can reach that dream at any age.
    My husband teaches emerging technologies at local college and always has a special place for older people (people above 55 or so) attending his class. I still take classes at local college . My observation is , if you are curious you’ll never stop learning”.

    BTW, are you familiar with the art of Trompe L’oeilA 3D art technique.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trompe-l'%C5%93il).     sha, idea ialah buah fikiran kita, something untuk kita cuba, explore dan mengeksperimen. Manakala konsep adalah hasil dari buah fikiran kita tadi yang telah dihasilkan dalam bentuk finished artwork.

    Macam muka bulat or muka petak, itu terpulang pada kesesuaian dan pilihan individu.

    setiap orang yang berusaha memang deserve dapat credits yang beliau usahakan. takde shortcut untuk berjaya, kalau berjaya secara shortcut, maka dengan shortcut lah anda akan jatuh semula. =)
