Plagiarised work is not good

Found this from a blog.

I went hopping from a page to another trying to find out about this image from a trusted source.

This is the original artwork I made for Aqilah.

Noticed the similarity?

Yes, my work has been plagiarised. It was traced.  The blame is on the so-called designer not to newly-wed commissioners.  They knew nothing about it.

I have e-mailed the designer and she has replied with an apology of not knowing it was my artwork.

Not knowing whose artwork it was doesn’t gives anybody any rights to just copy. It would be great if my image is used as inspiration. You can do similar artwork but with different character that you created and have a bit of the same composition. I don’t mind. You can have the same dolly business like me. I don’t mind. You can create your own dolly but with same clothing. I don’t mind. But if you traced my artwork, this I mind.

The thing is, some people like what they see and simply ripped it off without having second thoughts.

My terms-of-use and copyright both have been violated. If only she read my terms in the first place. If only she has the respect for another designer’s work. Please, read my terms of use before you want to use any images of mine (except for those images featured in here, that I have credited to their respective owners).

I am very considerate. I have given permission for quite a lot of people to use my artworks as accompanying images to their posts. All I ask was a credit mention to my name and a link back to this blog. And they happily agreed with my terms. As for commercial use, I have included in the terms that you have to seek my consent first. If I say that you have to pay for commercial use, you have to abide. If not, then look elsewhere.

And as for all the dollies, they were sold with a license to use it in their blog or other mediums as agreed in respective corresponding e-mails between them and myself. But as for the copyright, it is still mine.

Anyway, I forgave the designer. But hey, I hope she doesn’t mind me linking her here!

And oh, congrats to the newly-wed couple. You have a very cute dolly there!
