    Slithery Spaghetti – IF

The last time I submitted my drawings was back in October 2009 and the topic was Fast. I am making a comeback. Here’s a plate of my favourite Spagheti Vongole, drawn from a picture I took while in Rome back in March.

Found a recipe by Jamie Oliver. Will try and make it next weekend. And oh, which one is the best substitute for wine: apple cider vinegar, grape juice or tamarind juice? Let me know your thoughts. Thank you!

P/S My moleskine; 7 pages more.

    Rice blended

My husband and I was craving for rice porridge on Friday, so we went to this one shop near our home. 15 minutes after ordering, we got our rice porridge. But funny thing was, the rice porridge looked different. When scooped, there was no starch at all. I know it by one look.

And so, I called to the shop owner and asked her about the porridge. She told me that it was blended and that she added plain soup to it. I told her that that it’s not the way to cook porridge and after few arguments, she finally spoke the truth. She ran out of porridge.

If only she told earlier that she has no more porridge, my husband and I would look for another shop. We felt cheated. In the end, we asked for plain rice instead but ate only a little bit as our appetite has been suppressed.

Truth should’ve been told in 6 simple words: Sorry, I ran out of porridge. I don’t even mind if it was told in 5; without the very first word.

    Green, green grass of hope

Gone are the days that I draw for pleasure.

I have been taking jobs after jobs and after awhile, I lost the passion of doing it. I really need to take a BIG break soon after I clear pending works:

    • 60 illustrations, of which I have only done 4 of them
    • Pendidik magazine illustrations, of which I have 4 more issues to handle until end of this year
    • Flower Guardians, I have 30 illustrations so far, promised to deliver 100.

After that, I just want to sit down, read books and draw for pleasure. Nothing more. Nothing less. I am so tired.

Anyway, my moleskine: 8 pages left. Drew the grass last weekend.

    Enida!

Yesterday, I finally got to meet Enida, my online friend who is here for a holiday!

We have been online friends for almost a year now and it is really great to finally meet Enida in person! And also, I got to meet her adorable son, Edrick!

We met in Ampang Point and talked over Penang cuisine! We talked a lot and exchanged stories about ourselves. I felt like we have known each other all my life and it was like meeting a very long lost friend. The feeling is great and we definitely going to meet again before she left for Russia, where she currently resides with her husband and two children, Edrick and Kitreena. Kitreena could not make it as she has to attend school. Knowing that I love magnets, Enida showered me with beautiful ones along with porcelain thimble and lapel pins which she bought from her recent trips to Sweden, Canada and Australia.

Thank you Enida!! I love them all especially Sverigeflicka & Sverigepojke!

    Moleskine: Acik

9 pages left for me to post from my moleskine sketchbook, of which, I have already drew 3 pages.

My nephew was admitted on 14th May due to dengue fever and his platelet count was as low as 19. Normal is between 150 – 450. 6 days at the hospital, his fever was on and off with platelet counts of 27, 35, 14, 47 and a day before he was discharged, the count popped up to 120.

    Moleskine: while I wait…

…for the dentist to attend to me few months back. I was waiting for hours and when I finally went inside the room, there were 6 other patients inside!! The dentist was attending to all 6 and guess how long I waited? Before getting into the room — 3 hours, inside the room almost 2 hours before my wisdom tooth finally being pulled.

Now, is that normal for a dentist to attend to 6 patients at a time?

Anyway, my moleskine: 10 pages left. I have more, will post one a day.

While waiting for 3 hours, I managed to draw this, read old magazines, daydreamed, picked my nose, went to the lavatory for 3 times and many more…

    Moleskine: My escada tote

11 pages left to draw. 😛

I won this bag for my illustration submitted back in 2001 (if I’m not mistaken) for Escada Ibiza Hippie promotion in a local magazine. Also won an Escada Ibiza Hippie perfume.

Did this drawing while waiting at KLCC Park for son and husband to pick me up after a meeting with Petronas Gallery.

    Mind my vintage handphone…
