KL: Did you know? II

did you know - skybridge

Did you know that on 8 August 1995, the lifting of skybridge was halted for few hours due to bad weather condition? The storm struck in the evening and the wind was so strong that the engineers worried the lifting cables would sway and snap in the wind.

It was lifted to its final position at the 41st and 42nd levels of the PETRONAS Twin Towers  on 9 August 1995 after grueling 32 hours.

The skybridge was not part of the KLCC initial design. It was added later to facilitate an escape route between the Petronas Twin Towers.
