Blogging Dos and don’ts

dos and don'tsI came across so many articles about personal dos and don’ts in the internet and decided to come up with mine. I don’t really like some of it where they mentioned that do not put music, do not put this do not put that…

Below is my own Dos and Don’ts.

The Do’s

  • Do whatever you want with your blog; put music, personal pictures, anything you like!
  • Do write from your own personal view.
  • Do post up your own images/drawings/illustrations. People appreciate/love drawings, no matter how childish.
  • Do connect with other bloggers; for example: join their blog via Google Friend Connect, leave comment in their blogs, put their links in your blogroll (on your own free willing), etc. Else your blog will be a loner.
  • Do reply comments; people who leave comments appreciate any feedback from you.
  • Do link to related articles when you post about something. But please check HERE for sites that prohibit linking to them.

The Don’ts

  • Don’t leave so many links/URLs in your comment; it’s enough that that you provide your link in the default URL text box in the comment area.
  • Don’t force people to put up your links in their blog. Ask them first if they like to exchange, if they agree with that, then it’s cool!
  • Don’t copy other people’s contents. Ask their permission if you can put up a fraction of their content/quotes in your blog. Quote them and credit them.
  • Don’t put images with copyright. If you really like the images and want to integrate them in your posts, e-mail the owner for permission. Look for copyright notice or visit HERE if you want to know more. If the owner agrees, credit and link them.
  • Don’t post up big images fresh from the camera! Edit it or upload to image hosting website such as Photobucket, etc. Photobucket has a third party image editer called Photoflexer that you can use. For Blogger.com/Blogspot, it’ll be automatically done for you.

Well, that is all. Happy blogging!
