    A full weekend

We went back to Tangkak last weekend to attend a small family kenduri in conjunction with father-in-law’s birthday. Our family took the opportunity to celebrated the birthday of Cuman (my bro-in-law), Ayu, Adah and Nani (our nieces) as well.

On the way back to KL, we dropped by Melaka. Took that ride up on Menara Taming Sari.

Before we wrapped up the day and headed back to KL, we dropped by Blue Lagoon, Port Dickson. We had Ikan Bakar and reached KL an hour before midnight. It was really tiring but we had great time.

Captured this on July 22, 2009. I’m not sure what is the cause and simply made up a story that there’s a forest fire in Indonesia like the one that happened few years back. My husband laughed at me and told me it was not. He told me that I am so in my own world that I did not know what is happening around me. Well ok, I admit that I am slow in updating myself with the latest news.

But guess what, hubby? I am so right!! ;P

Well, partly right because it is reported that it is not only caused by the hot-spots in Sumatra but also by local peat fires burning in Selangor.

Read here, here, here and  here. There’s more, you know, just Google.

This situation reminds me of getting actors name right every time we watched movies on tv. We both are getting old and don’t quite remember names. To satisfy our curiosity, we would hurry to the computer and search the net by typing in the movie’s title.

    Land Before Time

    dinotrek2 - inside near entrance

Took a day off today and visited Petrosains, The Discovery Centre at KLCC with my son and husband. My son, at the time being, is amazed with dinosaurs and last week while browsing MPH’s bookshelves he picked up a book about dinosaur and of course I had to buy it. He is in a learning process and is really excited to learn more about dinosaurs. Looking at his enthusiasm about dinosaurs, my husband and I took him to the Dinotrek 2 exhibition at Petrosains. (<–click thumbnail to see larger version).

It was fun learning about dinosaurs. I mean, I never had much effort to learn more about dinosaurs but I learned quite a lot of facts and theory there and one of it was the extinction of dinosaurs. Dinosaurs disappeared from the face of the earth some 65 million years ago and it was all due to a giant asteroid that struck the earth. To me it makes sense as the extinction went mass; all of a sudden, the dinosaurs were wiped out and there must be something big that had happened. Well, of course after learning about it, I went googling to find more about the extinction. Found out that there’s a new theory that it was not due to asteroid but due to volcano that erupted in India.

Anyway, back to Petrosains. We spent 3 hours at Dinotrek 2. Yassin had fun being a paleontologist; he dug and found a fossil!!

He was quite engrossed (so was my husband and me!) to discover more about dinosaurs through the detailed explanations, animatronic models,  interactive games and quizzes. Dinotrek 2 showcases 5 types of dinosaurs (out of 527 recognized today!!) and they are Protoceratops, Spinosaurus, Stegosaurus, Tyrannosaurus Rex and Velociraptors.

Lol, I think I’ve talked long enough; if you want to experience the fun; visit Dinotrek 2 at Petrosains, The Discovery Centre, KLCC. Tickets for adult is Rm6.00, children RM3.00. You can find millions of information available about dinosaurs on the net; from Wiki, Mail Online, Discovery Channel, National Geographic and many more.

Here are more pictures from our visit to Dinotrek 2:

And oh, if you visit Dinotrek2, don’t forget to do that Dino Dance; your action will be snapped. There will be 5 shots altogether (You”ll be chromakeyed with the dancing dinosaurs!) and you can directly e-mail the pictures to yourself using the computer stationed there! Here are our snapped photos, it’s not quite clear though as it captured video frames (720 x 576 at 72dpi).

    What is up?

    arts n crafts

I am currently working on Arts & Crafts books for children. There will be 5 books and the first one will be a book with cartoon drawing projects. There will be 20 projects in this book and I am writing as well as illustrating. The book is in Malay Language. The other books will be about paper crafts, sewing crafts, handmade greeting cards and origami.

On the other hand, I am also working on flowers illustration samples for a publisher, as well as 2010 calendar sample with my artworks on it! Apart from that, I am doing a typesetting for 3 books, setting up an online shop for Wirabukit as well as attending to orders from my lilshop.

My hands are really full but I certainly will make time to blog!
