    Light bulbs

    incandescent vds fluorescent

I dunno, this topic triggered me yesterday when I sat down at my work-space working on a drawing. Usually, to find ideas I would stare emptily at things around me but the fluorescent bulb of my study lamp somehow got me thinking: Incandescents, do they still exist? When I was a kid, my family used a lot of incandescents but over times, we switched to fluorescents. A fluorescent uses 75 percent less energy and a 23-Watt fluorescent light bulb can produce the same amount of light as a 100-Watt incandescent bulb. It lasts about 10 times longer than an incandescent bulb. I use Osram Duluxstar Compact 14W Daylight but besides Duluxstar you can also check out their Sylvania light bulbs.

Well, incandescents are still around but EU has come up with a new ruling  to be implemented from 1 September 2009, according to which the incandescent lamps and other particularly energy-intensive light products are to be phased out in stages. Hope the same steps will be implemented here in this region.
