Legendary – IF
I’m still hooked on line work. The challenge at IF is to illustrate ‘Legendary’. This is my interpretation of the legendary fiction character by Lewiss Carroll, Alice. I dunno whether this suits the challenge but here it is. Took 3 hours to complete the line work and I already felt tired. There’s a little bit empty space at the back to draw; will attend to it when time permits.
Lol! i think her dress looks a bit like barcode! Talk about barcode, I went to search the inventor of barcode, lol! Curiosity killed the cat but not me! Thanks to the internet technology i know now who invented barcode. It was invented by Joseph Woodland and Bernard Silver. There! And oh, it wasnΓ’β¬β’t until 1974 that barcode scanners was employed.

thanks for your comment! I am crazy about line too! This is a fun illustration! I just finished reading Lewis Carol’s Alic in Wonderland, pretty trippy, but what an imagination! Fun interpretation!

thanks for your comment on my blog.
how funny that we both did Alice and the Cheshire Cat!
I think your line work is wonderful. I love the twists
in the tree and i think Alice’s dress looks like a very specific
kind of fabric which name escapes me, but it’s not
called barcode, hee hee. also, i think the empty space is the back
looks great how it is, as it is balanced with the rest of the illo
and it creates it’s own interesting shape.
really lovely!
jrt
great illustration and a good history lesson about barcodes.

Hi EMila,
Barcode lines or not they look pretty good. I wonder how you would depict someone like Dorothy and the yellow brick road – that too would be an excellent classical tale to tell through your talent π
bjornik

This illustration already looks perfect as is. I even like how you wrote the ‘unfinished’ type. We could say that their story is unfinished.

Your lines are beautiful! I love the swirly, graceful curves on the tree. And her barcode dress! I wonder what it would read on the scanner. I LOVE Alice in Wonderland, and yes, I’d say she’s definitely legendary. Wonderful!
