Faster loading, yeah? *

I have made major ammendments to this blog including changing it to a free wordpress theme, Blue Green Harmony,  that is compatible with WordPress 2.7.  I hopped from forums to forums to find solution on how to make it faster until Zi Sheng came to the picture. Zi Sheng suggested that I change the memory limit (from 32MB to 48MB) in my host settings. All i have to do is edit my .htacess and wp-settings.php files. He also instructed me to repair and optimise my database files.

I followed Zi Sheng’s instruction one by one and I think this blog loads faster than after I changed to the new theme! Thank Zi Sheng! I am truly thankful!

This blog should load faster now and if it’s slow once in a while; here’s the problem (got this e-mail notification from my hosting provider yesterday):

Dear Customers,

Since 20th February 2008, we have been experiencing a flip-flop technical glitches originating from TMNET Netmyne data routing facilities in Cyberjaya. Our hosting servers as well as other hosting companies who leased at TMNet Netmyne data center are currently affected by this issue. As notified by Netmyne personnel, all broadband connections such as Jaring, P1 Wimax, Izzi, U Mobile, Maxis etc. are having problem accessing Netmyne Data Center in Cyberjaya except from certain Streamyx connection nodes.

Our technicals are extensively chasing the Netmyne technicals to provide an update and corrective works to fix this issue as earlier as soon as possible. We understand your downtime issues but we are also frustrated with the problems that originated from the Data Center provider without formal acknowledgement of such downtime.

Please bare with us while we are trying very hard to make them work as hard as us on fixing this issue and cheer up the day.

Well, that figures the slow connecting to most of us here in Malaysia. Hope the connection will be back to normal soon!

As for the comments, I did some minor coding adjustment to the theme header and comments file as per Otto’s (the well-known WP moderator) instructions.  The threading comments is working again but please bear the little slowness.

And for those who got the error in getting an error of my link in their blog, no worries, I resolved the matter. As a person who is overwhelmed with this new issue, I tend to follow instructions that can make my blog load faster, including disabling external http access in the http.php file. I’ve taken out the coding and you should be able to receive my link without error again.
