    Cicely Mary’s books *

I am collecting Mary Cicely Barker’s books as well now. I recently bought Flower Fairies of The Spring and would love to have all 8 books in The Original Flower Fairies Books.

Book Copyright © The Estate of Cicely Mary Barker

Cicely Mary Barker was born in Croydon, South London in 1895 and died in 1973. She led a quiet life; owing to ill health. She was educated at home and largely taught herself to draw and paint. He Flower Fairies books, the first of which was published in 1923 by Frederick Warne (the same publisher as Beatrix Potter’s books), brought Cicely Mary Barker international acclaim as an artist and have become classics of children’s literature.

    My digital camera

I captured these photos yesterday with my digital camera while waiting on my son bathing in his blue plastic pool. I kinda like the reflection of the blue pool in the first photo but love the composition in the 2nd one. I will try to get few other shots tomorrow and hope that the Rain-lilies will still be there because typically they last only for a day or two. Just in case you wonder, I use Nikon D40X, a 10.2 Megapixel entry-level digital SLR. Though D40X has been succeeded by D60, both models basically share many of the same features and is mainly geared at entry-level users.

Digital cameras are known as fast-growing consumer electronics products and I just hope that I can keep up (read: afford) with the current technology. Here’s my camera; bought last year.

    Moleskine challenge: my hands *

my hands | soft pastel on moleskine

You probably have figured it all out that besides drawing women, I love to draw my hand/s. Well, hands can be the most difficult body part to draw, I sometimes had more than 5 sketches to get them drawn correctly. If you look at my Tioman Illustrated 2 drawing, I have both hands in the drawing. Can you believe that I drew my right hand with my left hand? I’m kinda ambidextrous but my left hand is not so powerful when it comes to drawing and writing. It is meant to do other tasks. ;P

I have the above in sketch for more than a month already and did the coloring yesterday after finishing the pretend women drawing. Hope you enjoy looking at all my drawings!

I’m going out in a bit to do some groceries shopping, I mights stop by the pharmacy to look for Bellaplex. Will have more posts tonight!

    My moleskine: 38 pages left!
