This post is related to below post. I am trying to justify the meaning of geeky to myself so that I won’t feel guilty for winning the contest for the rest of my life.

I received a lot of comments saying that my mousie and tablet pen was not geeky at all and that indirectly meant that I should have not won the contest. To me it is simple; as the contest’s theme was ‘We are all geeks”, I simply chose my subject of interest. Both the mouse and table pen represent two geeky people. Both can be clicked ( a tablet pen works like a mouse only in a form of pen which makes drawing very easy), so I thought it was a good idea to use the word ‘clicked’ which also means communicate or work together easily and readily. So basically, it means that both the sender and recipient must be two geekies who are familiar with both items.

According to Wiki: The word geek is a slang term, noting individuals as “a peculiar or otherwise odd person, especially one who is perceived to be overly obsessed with one or more things including those of intellectuality, electronics, gaming, etc. It also stated that a person with a devotion to something in a way that places him or her outside the mainstream. This could be due to the intensity, depth, or subject of their interest.

According to Encarta: Geek means “obsessive computer user: somebody who is a proud or enthusiastic user of computers or other technology, sometimes to an excessive degree.”

So if that’s the meaning of geek and if the argument is whether a tablet pen is geeky or not,  I surely think it is! I use mouse and tablet pen to an excessive degree, and that fact will make me a geek. So, if I am a geek, my tools are definitely geeky!
