Link Love #1

Bobby from Revellian dot com has initiated the idea of writing a weekly link post.

One thing many of us don’t do is write a weekly link post. Why don’t you? Like many people who put a lot of heartfelt work into valuable posts, I feel disappointed when no one notices or links to my good work. It’s not a “me thing”, it’s a “we thing”! I’m always on the lookout for good articles on lesser known blogs; you should too if you aren’t already. ~Bobby Revell

Inspired by Bobby’s idea, I think I shall start my weekly link post as of today. This week I am featuring six Malaysian bloggers who are truly talented and wonderful.

Rest N Rileks is a great blog which is run by Rizal, a craft instructor/designer at Institut Kraf Negara (IKN) or National Crafts Institute. He teaches about rattan craft, one of Malaysia’s own heritage. He features his artworks, crafts as well as his students works. Check out Rattan floor lamp and Rattan Picture Frames, they are really good!

These rattan crafts are available at KL Crafts Complex, IKN, Jalan Conlay, 50450 KL. Don’t forget that the National Crafts Day is just around the corner: 20 February – 10 March 2008 (10am – 10pm). (Picture: © Rizal)

acrylic-step-by-step1.jpgMing is a great artist who lives in Penang. Besides running Artmaker, he also runs Artmakr.com and Artmakrweekend.com. Ming has exhibited his paintings in a number group shows and held his first solo art exhibition in 2005. Many of his paintings have been collected by corporate and private collectors worldwide. He is conducting a tutorial: Step by Step Acrylics Part I. Be sure to check often for the next part.

dsc01858.jpgNext on the list is the jovial LilyLulu. She is a freelance photographer and I must admit that she takes great pictures. Her witty and funny posts always make me laugh! She loves her nieces (and Mr. Assistant!) very much but her love for food is undeniable.

Lili yang comel, saya pinjam gambar ya!

img_73001weblarge.jpgI don’t know that much about her but Mangosteenskin or Khairunnisa Maisarah is a pretty lady who paints and take great photos. Her most recent work is a watercolor painting using the wet-on-wet technique. Her first oil pastel in 2005 is beautiful too and reminds me of Van Gogh! Her idea of throwing painted mobile stone into someone’s window made me laugh! What a creative idea!

prettybone_big.gifMrs Imran who is a newly born wire wrapped artist, runs Mr & Mrs Imran and Narmi Jewellery. She makes great jewellery. Pretty Bone (Sold!) is one of her fine work made of medium size pink lamp work bead, bronze colored copper wire & swarovski crystal. You should check out her sites to see more products by her. She has the shopping cart system and buying her crafts wouldn’t be a problem. She’s also helping her brother runs Lonia Village, a new marketplace in Malaysia.
