Ever heard of Diabel or Barcelado?

I guess the answer is no!

My son’s favourite game is EA Pursuit and before he starts a race he will pick the type of car. His favourite ones are both Lamborghini’s Diablo and Murciélago and this is where Diabel and Barcelado came from! My husband and I tried many times to correct him but stubborn as he is, he insists that he has the right word! Lol!

I’ve made these for my online card store months back and haven’t had the time yet to show them here until today. Below is the process:

    1. Sketching in drawing pad
    2. Scanning
    3. Trace the sketching lines in Adobe Illustrator bearing in mind to do layers for each parts i.e beak- 1 layer, body – 1 layer, wing – 1 layer. Put colors to them. You can add *mesh tool here to create the 3D effect but as for me I like to do it in Photoshop using brush effects.
    4. Export to Adobe Photoshop and apply effects and shadings and what not (to not let the effect go outside the parts area, just pick your layer and check the lock transparent pixel buttons on top of layers tab). In the background layers, just put colors you like and apply your favourite brush effects.

I wanted to do a more precise tutorial with pictures but I seem to remember to do it only after I have finished doing the whole process! Will remember to put my camera near me always so I won’t forget!

Note: my favourite brush effect is Chalk!

*Here is one illustration, 100% done in Adobe Illustrator using mesh tool.

Poem Reading with friends | Watercolour

Close up poems! Bring on that magnifier!

IF theme for this week is ‘Poem’. Here’s an illustration of a girl reading poems to her adorable friends. I know it’s too small to notice but they are reading “Starlight, Starbright” and “Who has Seen the Wind”.
