    An attempt…

    Meow!

I am currently working on a children’s picture book and have all the illustrations done (in the process of coloring the illustrations). It’s a story about a cat. Maybe later, I will write a story about a bird or a cow; to complement the cat. My goal this time is to get it published. I think this goal will take me some time and I don’t know if I will ever get it published.

I know it is not a trend here in Malaysia to write and illustrate children’s picture books but I want to give it a try. I want to contribute whatever I can to the local children’s books industry. I am a junkie for children’s picture books and I believe I am not the only one.

    Creating art with great inventions!

    Me and Yassin!
    (Material: watercolor)

As Illustration Friday’s theme this week is “Invention”, I quickly knew what to draw. These inventions (sewing machine, pigments, computer, printer, canvas, brush, pen, pencil, etc) has helped me realised what I have in my head. There’s just no shortage of inventions to help my creative juices flow from mind to pen to paper, to brush to canvas – or should I say, to keyboard to screen!

I drew this using watercolor on acid-free watercolor paper and later scanned it into photoshop to put photos of my son, his painting (upper right) and my painting (middle) using masking effect.

    Adoi…

    (Material: Ink and digital)

My son got really pissed off yesterday, threw his rail block and screamed at me. Yeah, that was the result of not giving attention to him. Told him it was not good to throw things at people but then he threw another piece. Ouchh, I put down my drawing pad and played with him after that.

    Gloomy everyday

    Gloomy day
(Material: Done in digital, using Illustrator and Photoshop)

Looks like it’s going to rain again today. It rained yesterday. It’s probably going to rain tomorrow. So here’s posting an illustration of the gloomy rain.

    Illustration Friday – Thanksgiving

    turkey.jpgThanksgiving turkey on vacation!!
    Material: watercolour & ink

This is my first submission to Illustration Friday. I’ve been wanting to submit for months but there always seems to be something that stops me from getting to it. This time I’m going to make sure that I will take the time to do what gives me great pleasure. I admire all those artists that submit every week and I’ve certainly bookmarked many blogs and websites. I hope to become part of this community.

    Creative Block

    little fairy princess

I hit this creative block a few days ago, and can’t seem to slip out. So how do I get out of this rut? I paint. I did this little fairy and thought she’s pretty cute (yeah, taking my long lunchtime). I think I’ll call her Comel.

And I did a sketch of my unkempt side table.
